Today there are organizations in India who are working towards empowering kids with education, protect environment etc. These organizations choose a specific area and work to improve in the chosen area. But Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal [SSM] is one organization located in Sagroli, Maharashtra, India, working towards almost all issues present in their area. These include: education for backward people, healthcare for under privileged, protect environment, provide support to agriculture and empower tribal people.

SSM is a 50 year old organization started by ‘Baba Saheb’ Keshavbhai Deshmukh, who donated his 110 acres of land for this organization. Started in 1959 this organization now has two schools with thousand students in each school. Apart from these two schools, SSM also has Sanskrit school and a School for hearing impaired students. Approximately 2 lakh students passed out from these different schools and are now working as Doctors, Engineers and as Govt Employees. Also SSM started Sainik school in Nanded and as a result today many students from this school are working in India Armed Forces.

In SSM, a group of 10-15 women is formed and gets trained in courses that help them earn their livelihood. There are around 3000 women working as part of this initiative in around 25 villages. SSM also uses low cost technology to construct houses for people below poverty line. So far 500 families availed this facility.
